Teeth Whitening in Danbury, CT
Professional teeth whitening lightens stains on your natural enamel with a dentist-supervised gel. Depending on the shade you want, we usually recommend one in-office session followed by custom take-home trays with Pola® gel, planned at a 15 to 20 minute consult.

Is whitening right for you?
A good fit if you have…
✓ Stains from coffee, tea, red wine or tobacco
✓ Teeth that have yellowed with age
✓ Healthy teeth and gums
✓ A wedding, photos or a new job coming up
Something else may work better if…
– Crowns, fillings or veneers show when you smile. They won't change color.
– You have a cavity or gum problem. We treat that first.
– You're pregnant or breastfeeding. Pola® take-home gel isn't meant for use then.
In-office + take-home, together
Depending on the shade you want, we usually recommend both. The in-office session gets you started, and custom trays let you continue at home.

Good to know before you whiten
Will it make my teeth sensitive?
It can, usually for a few days. Sensitivity is a common side effect. Tell us if your teeth are already sensitive and we'll plan around it.
How long do results last?
It varies from person to person. Coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco can bring stains back, while brushing, flossing and regular visits help keep results.
Does it work on crowns or fillings?
No. Gel only lightens natural enamel. If new dental work is planned, we usually whiten first, then match it.

“The staff are all so kind and gentle, very thorough in explaining what is going on, and helpful through payment.”

Paying for whitening
Whitening is cosmetic, so insurance usually doesn't cover it. Members save 10%, and HFD, Cherry or CareCredit can spread the cost.
Teeth whitening questions
What happens at the whitening consultation?
It takes about 15 to 20 minutes. We check your shade, talk about your goal and recommend a plan. If it's been a while since your last checkup, we may suggest an exam first.
Why do you recommend in-office and take-home together?
It's what we usually recommend, depending on the shade you want. The in-office session gets things started, and custom take-home trays let you continue at home.
Is professional whitening better than store strips?
Store products use a lower strength and can take longer to reach a similar result. With us, your teeth are checked first and your trays are made to fit.
Does insurance cover teeth whitening?
Usually not, because it's cosmetic. Membership plan patients save 10%, and financing is available.
Can I whiten if I have sensitive teeth?
Often, yes. We can adjust your plan, for example with shorter wear times or breaks between sessions.
