Dental Crowns & Bridges in Danbury, CT

A crown is a custom cap that covers and protects a damaged tooth. A bridge uses crowns on neighboring teeth to replace a missing one. Yours is made in a dental lab, and you leave with a temporary the same day we prepare your tooth.

Do you need a crown?

A crown may help if you have…

✓  A cracked or broken tooth

✓  A large, old filling

✓  A tooth after a root canal

✓  A worn or badly stained tooth

Something else may work better if…

–  The damage is small. A filling or bonding may do.

–  The tooth can't be saved. An implant can replace it.

–  You only want a whiter smile. Try whitening first.

–  The nerve is infected. A root canal may come first.

Crown or bridge?

Both are made in a lab. The difference is whether you're fixing a tooth or replacing one.

Good to know

Does getting a crown hurt?

We numb the tooth first. Laughing gas is available if you're nervous.

Which material is right for me?

It depends on the tooth, your bite, your wishes and your budget. We offer porcelain, zirconia, porcelain-fused-to-metal and more.

How long do crowns last?

It depends on the material and your habits. Avoid chewing ice or hard objects, and ask about a night guard if you grind.

Paying for crowns

Many insurance plans help cover crowns. Members save 10%, and HFD, Cherry or CareCredit can spread the cost.

Crown and bridge questions

How long does it take to get a crown?

Usually two visits. We prepare the tooth and place a temporary at the first, then fit your lab-made crown at the second.

Can a crown be done in one day?

Our crowns are made in a dental lab, so they take two visits. You leave the first visit with a temporary crown.

What is a dental bridge?

A bridge replaces a missing tooth with a false tooth held in place by crowns on the teeth next to the gap.

Should I get a bridge or an implant?

An implant replaces the tooth without touching its neighbors. A bridge uses them for support. We'll help you compare.

Does insurance cover crowns?

Many plans cover part of a crown when it's needed for your tooth's health. We'll check your benefits.
