Full vs. partial

Which one fits your mouth?

A full denture sits on your gums when all the teeth in an arch are gone. A partial clips onto your remaining teeth to fill the gaps.

Are dentures right for you?

Dentures may suit you if…

✓  You're missing several or all teeth

✓  Your teeth can't be saved

✓  You want an option without surgery

✓  You'd like a removable option

Something else may work better if…

–  You're missing one tooth. An implant or bridge may feel more natural.

–  You want teeth that don't come out. Ask about implants.

–  Your current denture feels loose. Let us check the fit.

–  Your gums are sore. Let us take a look.

Dentures vs. implants

Dentures are removable and don't need surgery. Implants are fixed in the jaw and don't slip.

Do I sleep with dentures in?

We usually recommend taking them out at night to give your gums a rest.

Usually a few weeks. Speaking and eating get easier with practice.

Brush them daily with a denture brush and soak them overnight. Regular toothpaste can scratch them.

Paying for dentures

Many insurance plans help cover dentures. Members save 10%, and HFD, Cherry or CareCredit can spread the cost.

Denture questions

Do I need a full or partial denture?

It depends on how many teeth you have left and their health. A full denture replaces all teeth in an arch. A partial fills gaps.

Can I eat normally with dentures?

Most foods, yes, with practice. Start with soft foods cut into small pieces.

How long do dentures last?

Often several years. Your mouth changes over time, so dentures may need adjusting or replacing.

What if my denture hurts?

Sore spots are common at first. Call us and we'll check the fit.

Does insurance cover dentures?

Many plans cover part of the cost. We'll check your benefits, and financing is available.
